Our Top 10 favorite a-frame accessories!
It’s time for us to rate our favorite little gadgets and accessories for our A122s camper! Fun!
We love collapsible kitchen tools! A major pinch point for us is washing dishes in our a-frame’s tiny sink. It fits a couple dishes at a time, and when they are rinsed and clean, we would lay them on a towel on top of the glass range cover to dry. Its a tight space and knocking them off the counter was pretty much a common occurrence until we bought this thing. And the coolest thing is that it has a little spout to drain the water back into the sink!
Another kitchen gadget! When you’ve got an a-frame, you have to worry about clearance. And as I’ve stated before, the low-profile standard RV faucets that come with the units are both not cute and make filling bottles or washing dishes a pain in the booty. This little guy changes the game with it’s ability to fold down when the camper is collapsed, but also offers the luxury of a higher, kitchen-style faucet. Functionality in an itty bitty space is not to be taken for granted!
I saw this socket adapter in this guy’s video and had to have it. It really, truly does cut setup time down significantly. When you pull into the campsite at night, or in the rain and you want to get ‘er up and ready in a hurry, this simple little tool is a nice one to have. I just plug it into the impact and adjust from there.
7. Wall-mounted Toothbrush Holder
This is a new addition and its the bomb. Before this little guy, our toothbrushes were in a cup on that tiny strip behind the sink that is also home to our soap dispenser, pancake syrup and salt and pepper shakers. Our goal is to take back control of our space, particularly our counter space, so getting our oral hygiene accessories off the kitchen sink was just one more step toward getting organized and efficiently using our space. The only real con to this thing is that I’m probably going to have to screw it to the wall after humidity and potholes take their toll on the adhesive.
Boondocking magic!!! I seriously do not like sitting on a wet toilet and that is exactly what happens when you have a one room bath tent. This takes the whole outdoor shower/toilet experience to a level of comfort that I didn’t think was possible to achieve. Changing after a shower in the dry room of the tent for the first time made me feel like a Rockefeller. BOMB.
Don’t skimp on the commode, people. For a while we used one of those sketchy camping “toilets” that stands precariously on three legs and has a bag that stretches over the frame of the toilet like a trash bag in a trashcan… Haha, that is some scary sh!t, y’all. Now we can put that bad boy in the bath tent and relieve ourselves with peace of mind knowing that the terror of our rickety camping toilet is just a distant memory. The only reason this isn’t in first place is because we only really use it part-time, when we are boondocking.
Now, this is something we use every time we camp. We use the propane stove for things like breakfast and quick lunches, but for supper… We’ve got to make our food like the serious outdoor enthusiasts we are. And smores don’t cut it, so fire roasted veggies, or baked beans cooked unnecessarily over a fire are how we roll for dinner. Heck, we’ve even made a Hello Fresh meal over a campfire. Lol.
I’ve seen the hose to bucket trick before. Yeah, it works and yeah, it’s cheap. But if you want to be able to connect your gray water receptacle to a sewer hook up for quick, easy and clean disposal this will make you one happy camper. All it took was one time of rigging a water tank to an ill-fitted hose and struggling with literally every aspect of my poorly engineered contraption and I was sold on the Rhino.
So maybe you skimmed this whole article just to get down to my number one favorite camper accessory. And to your disappointment, it is a TV mount. Well please hear me out on this. A-frame life isn’t nearly as glamorous as a lot of people make it out to be. Sometimes its cramped and cold and rainy. Sometimes you have to just chill inside of this thing for hours waiting for the downpour to ease up, or waiting for the black bear to stop digging through the trash bag you accidentally left outside after last nights supper, or maybe even just relaxing after a long harder-than-it-looked hike. When you do, sometimes its just nice to connect to the hotspot and watch a little Netflix. And what’s even nicer is when your TV isn’t taking up all that space on your precious, precious countertop. And what’s even nicer than that, is being able to remove your TV from the wall so it doesn’t get totally destroyed when you fold up your camper to leave. So, that is why this is my family’s favorite little mod.
You know you want one too.
